Globalisation Lecture Series from the BBC

A little old (1999), but still an excellent lecture series from the world renowned economist, Anthony Giddens.

Abramhoff Alert: goin' down down d-o-w-n

Stock Tip: Apple (if Nano wasn't enough . . . just wait!)

Apple files for built-in laptop camera patent

Ok, so actually . . . Apple filed for this in March of 2004, but it's just hitting C-NET. We think . . . that G5 Powerbook might be getting closer, and it's gonna be LOADED!

Move to Connecticut . . . don't get squashed, rained on, trampled, blown away, or burned (except by ex-Governors)

Oh, as if this is surprising . . .

Young Bush arrested for "public intoxication"

For the record . . . Wonkette had the best commentary to this story:
"John Ellis Bush, 21, son of Jeb, nephew of George and close-falling apple was arrested in Austin early Friday for -- wait for it.... wait for it.... -- public intoxication. Oh, and resisting arrest. According to reports, young John was "a danger to himself." Just wait a few election cycles and he'll be a danger to the country. Unfortunately, you can't arrest anyone for that."

Just another article that will eventually come back to haunt us:

Dictatorial Fun from the BBC . . .

Favorite spelling mistake (spotted at a gas station):
"Change Belts & Hoes - $19.95"
(SAC think: "Belts & Hoes" would make a great name for a bar)

Favorite "oops" (spotted on 1-95):
The flashing sign advising motorists to call an 800# to report "Terrorist Tips" was malfunctioning . . . it only flashed, "Report Terrorist Tips."
(SAC think: um, ok . . . first you'll need a pipe and some fertilizer)

"Bring out your dead"
